Surveillance Operator

Description:

• Operate a closed-circuit television system to monitor gaming, non-gaming, money handling activity, and procedure compliance of the casino.

• Must participate in the Surveillance training program.

• Detection and prevention of fraud, theft, cheating, criminal activity, and procedure violations.

• Records any irregular activity through saving video and pictures.

• Operates all Surveillance equipment including, but not limited to monitors, computers, controllers, and cameras.

• Maintain a proficient knowledge of all policies and procedures.

• Become familiar with current list of banned or suspicious patrons, and cheats, maintained by Surveillance.

• Make accurate log entries and write detailed reports as needed.

• Safeguard all confidential information and maintain department confidentiality.

• Report any personal circumstances that may pose a conflict of interest or hamper creditability of the Surveillance Department.

• Always conducts self in a manner that reflects credit on Downstream Casino Resort and encourage others to do the same.

• Keep supervisors informed of all pertinent information.

• Conducts special observations as assigned, as well as routine observation of all gaming areas. Assist on gaming reviews, and non-gaming reviews as needed.

• Ensure proper function of all equipment. Maintain video/picture folders, and ensures everything is in the correct location.

• Briefs oncoming shift of previous/ongoing incidents. Must arrive early for briefing.

• Ensure all assigned training and testing is completed on time.

• Conduct audits and checklists to ensure policies and procedures are being followed.

• Maintains data files on criminal activity, advantage players, and procedural infractions.

• Other duties as assigned/delegated by the Vice President of Security / Surveillance, Surveillance Director, Surveillance Manager, Surveillance Supervisors, or Lead Operators.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older upon employment. High school diploma or its equivalency required.

• Must have proficient computer skills.

• Previous customer service experience preferred.

• It is preferred that candidates have experience in one of the following areas: loss prevention, security, law enforcement, any technology field, or have previous casino experience.

• Must possess excellent communication skills.

• Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees, and customers.

• Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with fellow employees.

• Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.

• Must be able to be approved for and maintain a valid gaming license. Employment is contingent upon a favorable outcome of a background investigation and drug screening.

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

• Must maintain a professional appearance and act in a professional manner.

• Must complete the new hire training program, including gaming areas, within one year of being hired.

• Must comply with all casino internal controls.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

• Must be physically mobile with reasonable accommodations and be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino.

• Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust.

• Able to sit or stand for long periods of time observing numerable Surveillance monitors.

• Able to observe and recall specific details of incidents and persons.

• Manual dexterity to operate, monitors, computers, controllers, and cameras.

• Excellent vision including peripheral, and be able to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, twist and grip items when necessary.

• Operate in Mentally and physically stressful situations.

SCHEDULING

A Surveillance Operator must be available to work any shift. While every effort will be made to ensure that you are on the same shift with the same days off from week to week, this will not always be possible. The schedule will be made to fit the business needs of the casino. There may be times where you will be required to work a different shift or work overtime to fill in when the department is shorthanded or during busy periods, such as holidays.

The Downstream Casino Resort Adheres to all applicable Resolutions of the Quapaw Tribe of Oklahoma. Native American Preference policy does apply.
