Fiber Construction Foreman
Job Summary:
The Fiber Construction Foreman will oversee and coordinate various fiber construction projects from start to finish, ensuring that schedules and budgets are followed.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· Selects and oversees crews for specific needs such as boring or laying cable.
· Supervises each crew to ensure that work meets quality standards and adheres to specifications.
· Trains and develops members of their team to achieve career mobility.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Provides leadership on job sites by walking out project and directing crews to meet production goals.
· Schedules and coordinates projects in logical steps and budgets the time necessary to meet each deadline.
· Plans, coordinates, organizes, oversees, and directs activities regarding the construction and maintenance of assigned fiber networks, structures, facilities, and systems.
· Ensures safety standards and guidelines are followed on the jobsite and that all safety codes are met in construction.
· Manages and leads actions that are necessary due to delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction sites.
· Develops and maintains good working relationships with a variety of people, including owners, managers, designers, supervisors, tradespersons, and craft workers, and the general public.
· Ensures the Construction Manager has all necessary communication concerning production delays, safety incidents, or emergencies.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Proficient with documenting any construction damage claims.
· Ability to remain flexible and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to make intelligent and quick decisions, working well under pressure, and when faced with unexpected occurrences or delays.
· Ability to effectively multitask while analyzing and solving problems.
· Thorough understanding of engineering and other construction drawings.
· Ability to provide leadership to a crew.
· Must be able to travel up to 80% of the time including overnights.
Education and Experience:
· At least five years of fiber construction experience preferred
· OSHA 10 required
· OSHA 30 preferred
· Class A CDL License with Tankers Endorsement required
