Leggett and Platt Wire Mill has an immediate opening for a Payroll Clerk.

General Job Summary

Process payroll for all hourly and incentive employees of the facility.

General Job Responsibilities
  • Manually calculate and key hours worked daily for hourly and incentive paid employees.
  • Enter data into payroll system, balance and verify entries (entries include vacation, overtime, paid personal time, and various other types of compensated leave).
  • Manually update and adjust pay rates and shift differentials when applicable.
  • Investigate and process retroactive and/or manual pay adjustments and discrepancies (including recalculating incorrect hours paid, missed overtime or downtime, wrong pay rate, and data entry errors).
  • Communicate with employees any pay discrepancies, findings, or errors.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive employee information.
  • Maintain payroll records in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures.
Skills Required

Strong skills in basic accounting and Microsoft Excel. Meticulous attention to detail and payroll balancing. Exceptional organizational and time management skills. Skilled in high-volume data entry with exceptional accuracy. Skilled in conveying complex information clearly and effectively. Proficient in manual timecard reconciliation.

Education/Experience

Must have a background in payroll administration and processing. Proven experience in reviewing, verifying, and entering manual timecard data. Understanding of Wage and Hour Laws (FLSA in the U.S). Background in Accounting or Business is helpful.
