DescriptionSummaryThe Boring Machine Operator position is responsible for drilling and laying pipe, lines and other materials underground.Required Experiences5+ years' experience in boring, wiring, and heavy machine operations.Knowledge of terminology associated with boring.Attention to detail and initiative to be self-motivated and directed.Ability to listen, follow directions and communicate effectively.Ability to manage time and work independently or with other team members.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesConduct daily safety briefings.Maintain safe working conditions at all times.Maintain condition, functionality and use of proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times.Operate machinery such as boring machines, back hoes, and excavators safely and accurately.Travel as required for jobs to ensure project management is on schedule.Remain on call 24/7 for UP and KDOT issues.Demonstrate and attain CDL Core Values:Safety FirstCan Do AttitudeSense of UrgencyOne Team, One DreamQuality Above AllPhysical DemandsDuties may require:Standing, walking, bending, kneeling and/or sitting for long periods of timeClimbing ladders to reach ceilings and other high objectsPush/Pull/Lift/Moving 50 pounds repeatedlyWorking in adverse weather conditions
