Overview:

Responsible for originating PPAs and transactions in the wholesale market for a portfolio of generation, transmission and energy storage assets with a particular focus on utilities (IOUs), community choice aggregators (CCAs), Retail ESP's, corporate customers, municipals and cooperatives in CAISO and WECC.

Role:

• Develop and maintain presence for key customers in regions where the company has projects; network with wholesale buyers, municipalities, power generators to originate high value transactions
• Responsible for generating bilateral transactions, responding to request for proposals (RFPs) and developing relationships in the near and long-term energy markets.
• Assess needs of energy purchasers and suppliers to provide perspective of ideal regions and /or counterparties to target for future development of projects or investments.
• Communicate with transmission, development, operations and commercial personnel within the company in development of business strategies and power supply product offerings.
• Initiate supply proposals, energy product offerings and educate customers and potential customers on transmission and energy storage solutions.
• Monitor and analyze regulatory filings and manage participation in applicable regulatory proceedings, including advocating positions with local and state officials and staff.
• Contribute to a Government /Regulatory plan to promote and enhance company assets and development opportunities.
• Ability to remain flexible, anticipate issues and opportunities, solve problems effectively, and be an effective team member.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in a Business or Engineering discipline
• Must have five years and current experience executing PPAs, hedges and/or capacity transactions; experience in CAISO required
• Must be able to demonstrate existing relationships with target customers
• Must have solid understanding of relevant regulations, resource planning, transmission, congestion, renewable portfolio standards and forward energy curves and how they impact both mid and long-term energy products.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently.
