GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

The HR Generalist is responsible for providing comprehensive human resources support across the organization. This role manages core HR functions including payroll coordination, employee lifecycle processes, recruitment, performance management support, and documentation management. The HR Generalist ensures compliance with company policies and applicable regulations while fostering a positive employee experience.This is a part-time position (20-30 hours per week) working on-site in our main office in Neosho, MO.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • PEO Partnership: work closely with Nextep, Marcos PEO (Professional Employer Organization)
  • Payroll Administration: Prepare, review, and submit payroll accurately and on schedule; coordinate with finance and external payroll providers as needed.
  • Employee Lifecycle Management: Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a smooth transition for new hires and departing employees.
  • Recruitment & Staffing: Post job openings, screen applicants, coordinate interviews, and support hiring managers in selecting candidates.
  • Performance Management: Provide administrative support and training for the performance evaluation process in the Nextep portal.
  • Job Descriptions & Organizational Structure: Develop, update, and maintain accurate job descriptions and the companys organizational chart.
  • Training & Documentation: Maintain training records, employee files, and HR documentation in compliance with company standards and applicable laws.
  • HR Projects & Compliance: Support HR initiatives, audits, and reporting; ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Other Duties as Assigned: Provide support on special projects and initiatives to meet organizational goals.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • Equivalent experience considered.

Experience:

  • 2+ years of HR generalist or HR coordinator experience.

KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Knowledge of HR practices, employment law, and payroll processes.
  • Confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems, payroll software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to build trust across the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and process improvement mindset.
  • Collaborative team player with a customer-service orientation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 20 lbs.

PERFORMANCE METRICS

  • Goals and objectives will be set and structured annually by the leadership team. (SMART Target Utilization) Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-based.
  • Targets will include profitability, liquidity, efficiency, valuation, and leverage.
  • Complete all assigned reporting tasks prior to deadlines, while assisting other departments as necessary.
