Water And Sewer Modeling Senior Engineer

Olsson offers clients a full spectrum of water and wastewater services, including a complete line of planning, design, permitting, and construction phase services. Maintaining water quality is Olsson's number one concern, and we are able to respond to a broad set of client demands in a timely and cost-effective manner. The Olsson Water/Wastewater team is looking for an experienced water and/or sewer modeling engineer to perform hydraulic modeling and master planning to meet the client's needs from conception to completion. As a modeling engineer, you will perform process design calculations, create population and demand projections, assist with report writing, and attend meetings with the client. As an engineer for the Water/Wastewater team, other responsibilities will include providing project design utilizing CAD/modeling software, performing technical analysis, preparing construction documents, providing construction services, performing research, and writing technical reports. You will work closely with other team members and engineers on wastewater collection and treatment projects, along with water supply, storage, treatment, and distribution. Typical tasks you will work on include sanitary sewer piping, wastewater pump stations, wastewater treatment facilities, water piping, water supply wells, water storage tanks, and water treatment facilities.

Primary responsibilities include providing high-level project design and review of project documents and design quality for complex projects, serving as a technical specialist, applying advanced engineering concepts and developing approaches to solve for complexities, performing QA/QC and ensuring delivery of completed designs meets quality standards and project objectives, conducting research in areas of considerable scope and complexity, advising and directing staff on design approaches to fulfill project requirements, working collaboratively to promote efficiencies and produce high quality work, contributing to the development of standards and/or guidelines for engineering activities within the team, supervising and reviewing technical assignments of less experienced staff, assisting with mentoring and development of junior staff, and helping to build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring our projects meet and exceed client expectations.

Qualifications include a passion for working collaboratively with others, having ownership in the work you do, and using your talents to positively affect communities. You bring to the team strong communication skills, ability to contribute and work well on a team, a bachelor's degree in engineering, planning, or a related field, understanding of water and wastewater master planning process, solid understanding of open channel and closed pipe hydraulics, experience with ArcGIS Pro mapping software, and 10+ years of experience with water and sewer modeling software such as InfoWorks ICM, SewerGEMS, WaterGEMS, InfoWater Pro, and/or WaterCAD.

Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, geographic location, skills, education, and internal equity. Colorado Pay Range $116,000-$173,000USD.
