Maintenance Technician - Nights

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for scheduled, unscheduled, and preventive maintenance and repair of a wide variety of beverage manufacturing and packaging equipment. Requires strong mechanical skills including hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, conveyor systems, and PLC usage.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Adhere to health and safety policies/procedures, GMPs, and wear required PPE in warehouse or production areas.
  • Adhere to food quality and food safety standards per corporate, customer, and governing bodies (e.g., SQF).
  • Report problems with the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) to responsible management to initiate corrective actions.
  • Perform repair maintenance, preventive maintenance, and line changeovers.
  • Troubleshoot machinery for malfunctions (electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic).
  • Perform maintenance on supporting equipment (e.g., glycol, RO, compressed air, lubrication, chemical distribution).
  • Use innovative thinking when troubleshooting to minimize downtime and assure food safety, product quality, and personnel safety.
  • Complete, document, and obtain final approvals on work orders; record part numbers used.
  • Communicate relevant maintenance and production information from shift to relieving shift.
  • Assist in training other maintenance personnel.
  • Communicate with production during downtime.
  • Work collaboratively with adjacent teams to resolve issues rapidly and drive improvement.

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of GMPs and understanding of Food Safety Requirements.
  • Able to read, understand, and work with machinery blueprints and parts manuals.
  • Able to work without supervision; good decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Must obtain and maintain forklift certification.

Education and Experience:

  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years previous maintenance experience in manufacturing preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Work Schedule: Weekdays, weekends, afternoon, evening, and overnight may be required. Overtime scheduled as needed.
  • Work Environment: Fast-paced production plant with numerous moving parts. Noise levels require hearing protection; temperatures can be hot and/or relatively cold. Structured and supervised environment.

Travel Requirements:

  • Minimal travel may be required as needed for training.

Physical Requirements:

  • Stand or Sit X Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl X Lifting up to 50 lbs. (minimum 5 lbs) X Carry weight, lift X Walking X Driving X Climb (stairs/ladders) or balance

Visual/Sensory: Attention to detail, focusing with one or two senses at a time.

Coordination and Dexterity: Excellent handeye coordination and manual dexterity for precise control of equipment.
