About the Role
The Company is in need of an Associate General Counsel to provide expert legal guidance and support across a range of commercial and corporate matters. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing company policies on legal issues, conducting in-depth research, and offering timely advice on a variety of legal matters, including but not limited to, commercial contracts, marketing, IT, and litigation. The role also involves anticipating and mitigating legal risks, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and managing the legal aspects of corporate transactions. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' of comparable legal experience, with a strong background in corporate law and a preference for experience in specific areas such as marketing and advertising law, intellectual property, privacy, and information technology.Applicants for the Associate General Counsel position at the company should possess a Juris Doctor degree and be licensed to practice law in Kansas, or have the ability to become licensed within 12 months. A background in engineering or a science degree is a plus. The role requires excellent negotiation, communication, administrative, and managerial skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with all employees. Experience in providing legal support for manufacturing operations is desired, and experience in areas such as employment and labor law, environmental law, finance and tax, antitrust, and corporate governance will be given additional consideration. The candidate should also have experience in leveraging AI-powered tools for legal research and drafting, with the ability to assess outputs for accuracy and manage related legal and ethical risks.
